The new LEGO Duplo sets due in Summer of 2025.
  • Summer 2025 brings sets like Shape Sorter Puppy House and First Time at the Airport, promoting early learning and play.
  • New Duplo sets include activities like shape sorting, animal building, and a LEGO board game to boost creativity and skills.
  • Sets like Frozen and Peppa Pig join fun options like 3in1 Dinosaurs on Wheels for imaginative play.

The LEGO Duplo series is one of the very best. While it’s often abstract and not something an AFOL would typically give a second look, it serves as the gateway for many children into the LEGO hobby.

This is why the LEGO Group has continued to expand the LEGO Duplo range. And while the summer 2025 wave brings exciting themes like Creator 3-in-1, Harry Potter, and Marvel, it also turns its attention, quite fittingly, to toddlers.

Retailers have already begun listing the new Duplo sets, which are expected to go on sale starting June 1. However, at the time of reporting, these sets have not yet appeared on the official LEGO.com website or any of its regional counterparts.

That said, after comparing online retailer inventories, The Brick Spotters can now confirm that eight new sets are on the way — possibly as soon as next month. Let’s dig in.

Shaper Sorter Puppy House (10441)

Shape Sorter Puppy House (10441) is designed for the youngest LEGO fans, starting at just 1½ years old, and brings developmental play to the forefront. The set encourages shape and form recognition, a crucial skill at this age, through a classic sorting activity built into a charming puppy-themed house.

This addition fills a noticeable gap in the Duplo range, offering a hands-on toy that supports early learning. The last sorter in the series was Creative Sorter (6784). It includes an adorable puppy and older dog, a ball, and bones — all represented by printed Duplo bricks that are easy for small hands to recognize and handle. An apple tree adds a bit of scenery to complete the friendly setting.

With four distinct shapes to explore and a price of $29.99, Shape Sorter Puppy House is both a playful and practical way to introduce toddlers to the LEGO world.

First Time at the Airport (10443)

First Time at the Airport (10443) is intended for children who are a little older — and at age 2, they can begin to grasp the idea of real-world procedures. Retailing for $29.99 and featuring 23 pieces, the set helps kids become familiar with everyday situations in a fun, hands-on way.

The set includes two minifigures: a pilot and a traveler, along with a teddy bear and printed luggage pieces that can slide down a blue LEGO slide — a staple of the Duplo range. A working luggage belt lets printed cubes glide down for the traveler to collect, and a bright yellow airplane opens up to fit the minifigs onboard.

First Time at the Airport (10443) encourages imaginative play, letting children relive their own first flight or dream up a journey of their own. It fosters creativity, self-reliance, and cooperative play — especially when shared with friends.

McQueen’s Visit to Doc’s Garage (10456)

Although at the age of 2 you hardly want to expose your toddlers to screen time, the character of McQueen is a lasting cultural motif, and children love the slightly goofy amorphized racer car. With Lightning McQueen Race Day (10924) and Lightning McQueen & Mater’s Car Wash Fun (10996) now both retired, the addition of McQueen’s Visit to Doc’s Garage (10456) is actually a fun way to add to the franchise.

The new set comes in at 35 pieces and is intended for toddlers 2+, retailing at $29.99. The set features a sole garage door to let McQueen in, and a whole lot of instruments to ensure that when he leaves, he will be spic and span.

Children can tinker with different tools and engage in imaginative play where they are improving McQueen and even giving him a bath after a tough race! Once again, McQueen’s Visit to Doc’s Garage (10456) is meant to encourage imaginative play, and its safe and child-friendly designs achieve just that.

3in1 Animals on Wheels (10448)

We may have already mentioned how much we enjoy the 3-in-1 sets LEGO releases for the Creator collection. That’s why seeing Duplo adopt a similar approach in 3in1 Animals on Wheels (10448) is such a delight! With 58 pieces, children can build three different animal characters on wheels, adding plenty of play value to the experience.

While the characters can’t be built all at once, your 2+ year-old will enjoy finding new ways to create a duckling, kitten, or fish. The set features vibrant, contrasting yellow-and-blue colors, making it an ideal way to introduce your child to building slightly more complex designs—and giving them a taste of early LEGO-style construction.

Of course, your child is still far from becoming a full-fledged LEGO fan, and that’s perfectly fine. 3in1 Animals on Wheels is meant to spark curiosity and playful exploration, encouraging kids not only to recreate the original animals but also to experiment and build freely as their imagination leads them.

Hopsy’s Castle Game (10450)

Hopsy’s Castle Game (10450) is designed for children aged 3+ and includes 47 pieces. The twist? It’s more than just a LEGO set your child builds—it also functions as a board game that encourages learning through play. Featuring three adorable animal figures—a kitten, a bunny, and a squirrel—kids can spin the wheel using a unique LEGO arrow piece and jump forward as many blocks as the spinner indicates.

This intuitive and engaging setup helps children grasp early mathematical concepts while still enjoying the familiar building aspect of LEGO. Before the fun begins, you’ll set the scene together, combining creativity with interactive play. Hopsy’s Castle Game (10450) will retail for $39.99 and is a charming addition to the LEGO Duplo line.

3in1 Dinosaurs on Wheels (10451)

Before 2025, the only LEGO Duplo set offering the 3-in-1 concept was the 3in1 Tree House (10993). This June, the Duplo collection expands with the addition of 3in1 Dinosaurs on Wheels (10451), giving young builders the chance to explore dinosaurs in a hands-on way.

The 3in1 Dinosaurs on Wheels set allows children to choose from three different pairings of dinosaurs: Stegosaurus and Triceratops, Aquilops and Diplodocus, and Parasaurolophus and Pterodactyl. While only one pairing can be built at a time, the set includes a variety of elements that can be rearranged to create different combinations, providing ample opportunities for creative play.

This set introduces young builders to more complex designs, encouraging them to experiment with different configurations and ideas as they engage in the building process.

Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Castle Party (10455)

Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Castle Party (10455) is another 2+ set in the LEGO Duplo series, featuring 54 pieces and Disney’s iconic princesses, which may explain why it’s priced at $59.99, one of the higher price points for the summer 2025 releases.

The set offers good play value with four minifigs, a slide, and several small items. Notably, it includes two-by-two child-friendly bricks that can be stacked or arranged to create scenes, such as snow.

The set includes Anna, Elsa, their reindeer friend Sven, and Olaf the snowman. While it invites creative play, younger children, especially those unfamiliar with the Frozen context, may need some guidance.

Grandpa Pig’s Garden and Greenhouse (10461)

A beloved children’s character Peppa Pig is once again featured in the LEGO Duplo series through Grandpa Pig’s Garden and Greenhouse (10461). The set comes in at 102 pieces and is intended for children 2 years of age or older and will retail for about $79.99.

The scenery is rich and busy and LEGO has chosen to go down a less abstract path with designing the set, feature interesting buildings such as a tool shed, a greenhouse, stalls laden with Grandpa Pig’s Garden’s freshest produce.

There are five minifigs coming with this one, all known faces from the franchise, who will engage in creative play and let young children help Grandpa Pig water his pumpkin bed, pick and transport carrots, grow sunflowers, and sort through crates of tomatoes, complete with proper gardening tools such as watering can, pitchfork, shovel, wheelbarrow, and more.
