The office opening was also attended by Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and Danish Ambassador to the United States, Jesper Møller Sørensen, as well as the Bay State’s Governor, Maura Healey, marking a rare interest in the venue.

The LEGO Group has also confirmed that it will allocate $5 million over two years to boost “play” the term that the company uses to promote its core values that adults and children alike, should be able to explore and learn through fun activities.

There is more to the new office space and building, as the LEGO Group is celebrating its long-term commitment and reaffirming its position in the region. The LEGO Group is due to open a regional distribution center in Virginia in 2027 and expects to hire and employ 2,000 people.

Group Chief Commercial Officer Colette Burke said that LEGO was working with Boston-based research and charitable partners to make it possible for more children to have the opportunity to play.

“We are proud that through this $5 million charitable commitment, we will support partners who share our vision of leveraging the power of play to ignite children’s creativity and make a positive impact in their lives,” Burke stated.

In the meantime, LEGO is gearing up for the upcoming World Play Day on June 11, 2025, which will take place in Boston and seek to promote the group’s core values.
